PerchPeek

PerchPeek is a global employee relocation platform, bringing together relocation services, case management, and support for employers and their employees.

My Role

Senior Backend Engineer

November 2024 – Present

I worked as a Senior Backend Engineer on PerchPeek’s core Laravel API, powering its employer, operations, and relocator products for global employee mobility. I delivered features end to end, from domain modelling and integrations to queued jobs and the tools used by internal teams.

Case management and talent profiles

I helped move talent operations onto a unified case model, bringing services, expense management, relocation-stage history, and ClickUp add-on synchronisation into one case file. I also built a flexible talent attribute system, attribute-request workflows, custom reporting tables with exports, and modular profile widgets used across initiation, dashboards, and immigration.

Immigration and employer initiation

I developed immigration tooling for tracking stages, risks, and milestones, alongside configurable exports, planner assignment, and internal planners generated from service-linked templates. I delivered employer self-serve initiation through draft forms, CSV and Excel bulk uploads, and ATS webhooks, including encrypted Ashby payloads. I also improved large-upload reliability by addressing timeouts and database deadlocks.

Expenses and financial reporting

I extended expense management with budget remaining and spend visibility, multi-currency conversion, vendor and category details, and finance exports. This included making foreign-exchange handling more resilient.

AI, messaging, and notifications

I introduced AI-assisted workflows for generating relocator updates from service-channel messages and conversational reporting over expense data, alongside a chat sentiment proof of concept. I expanded notifications through in-app alerts, weekly digests, unread reminders, and assignee and mention emails. I also improved chat inbox performance, file previews, and alerts for unanswered conversations.

Infrastructure and operational reliability

I set up a dedicated demo environment on Laravel Vapor, with queued generation of realistic company and talent data. I also improved production observability to help the team investigate issues and maintain the platform.
